Fresh Off The Runway

Its a beautiful Monday morning, && today we introduce Alex Hooks as our Fresh Off the Runway contender. Alex is a, "rising sophomore Marketing major at Howard University from Richmond Va by way of Brooklyn New york ". I see you HU ;;]

Here is what he has to say about his style, "

As far as my style is concerned, its definitely GQ inspired. I'm big on wearing ties and cardigans, suits and blazers and lace ups. I think my style is functional and laid back. When I'm not playing on patterns with a shirt and tie combo you'll catch me in a polo and cardigan with drivers or casual sneakers."

"My trademark though would have to be my socks. Even though you cant see them in any of the pictures I submitted, I'm a big fan of eccentric socks. Argyle, stripes, patterns, I wear em all. I stick with Polo, J.Crew and Banana Republic and I've been dabbling in the thrift stores a little up in DC. I'm aware of name brands but not restricted by them. I wear what I feel comfortable and what i think looks good. so I'm always comfortable in what I'm wearing."

His style definitely reminds me of Classic, All American style. && it doesn't that hurt that he attends the prestigious Howard University. ;;] Gotta show love to my school. He receives a head nod from Vogue D, but you know we want to know what y'all think. VOGUE or No?

Only Drake is allowed in Marvin's Room

When Drizzy dropped his instinct hit, "Marvin's Room," the entire world took heed. He describes a situation that the all people can relate too; thus, the track quickly became everyone's favorite. The message of Drake's song has become sooo powerful that it is influencing other artist to create their own version. At first, when JoJo released "Marvin's Room (Can't do Better)," it was like cool to see a woman's prospective. However, now that Sammie, Teyana Taylor and Romeo have decided to record their own remakes, I have decided that enough is enough.

Am I the only person who feels like all remakes to Marvin's Room suck?

Hats vs Wigs, Florian Dovillez's Hat Collection

These are not the Mad hats worn at the Royal Ascot 2011, but are the outstanding work of French hair stylist Florian Dovillez. As a fashion lover Dovillez made his way towards hairdressing with the only objective of unleashing all the creativity within him.

In 2011, Florian Dovillez launched his first hat collection in collaboration with stylist Anna Note, whose clothes were created out of synthetic hair, fine fabrics and wool. The hats are made of 100% human hair, some dyed black, others bleached blonde. The idea was to be able to curl, flat iron or style the hat as it was part of your own hair. Dovillez's goal is to create various volumes of the wearer's actual hair, blurring the lines between what is real and what isn't.

With weight and body, as well as flowing silhouettes, the results are of a timeless beauty. Photographer Riki Tinoza captures the striking Hat Collection in a series of beautiful and ethereal images.
