Wardrobe Essentials: The White Shirt

As summer slowly comes to a close, I know many of our Voguers will be looking to expand their closets from the inside out. But before you go out && stock up on the trendiest season must haves, make sure your closet has the staples to keep it together for the remainder of the year. So each week, Vogue D will be profiling certain wardrobe essentials that every male & female should own. Introducing the white shirt . . .

The white t shirt was introduced in the early 1900s & was made iconic by the likes of actor James Dean and great American designer Ralph Lauren.

And decades later this basic is still in full effect. We seen it all over the runways this season with great examples from the very chic Jil Sander. 

&& of course our favorite and most fashionable celebs rock them on a daily.



As you can see with Mr. West as well as Kim, the looks can be dressed up or down with little to no effort. Moral of this fashion fairytale: This piece will NEVER get old, & can be re-worked time and time again. So remember when shopping this fall the white button up/t shirt should be at the top of your list.
