You GO Boy!
Okay... as I was doing my morning promotional routine for Vogue | Diaspora, I headed over to my little sister's Facebook page and stumbled upon a video... and it absolutely caught me by surprise and I said I MUST, I WILL, I SHALL share this with #TeamVogueD to see if they get the same reaction.
This cover to "Love" by Musiq Soulchild surprised me so much not only because the quality of his voice... BUT HE'S CAUCASIAN!!!! Now, I'm not saying that caucasian men can't sing, but the WAY he is singing is just shocking. If I didn't look at the video and just heard his voice I honestly would have thought he were African American. I mean, the only caucasian artists I really know of with smooth, soulful voices are Christina Aguilera and Tyneshia Keli, if there are anymore feel free to put me in my place! But enough talking... LISTEN to this man!

Flashback Fridays
During the all-nighter Ericka & I pulled last night [yep it's like that sometimes] , we were discussing artists we literally grew up on. Of course Dwayne Michael Carter was one of them. We been riding with him since the Hot Boyz. Even though I won't take y'all that far back, I bet this song will remind you of middle school days.
WHO was fadin Manny Fresh & Wayne ?

" Wonderland " viewed by Kirsty Mitchell
Fashion theme continues with the "Wonderland" series of UK based photographer and fashion designer Kirsty Mitchell. A graduate with honors in fashion design at Ravensbourne College, Mitchell also completed two internships at the design studios of Alexander McQueen and Hussein Chalayan, who both have effected her greatly, and have given her a hunger for the extraordinary.
Not only Mitchell shoots amazing pictures, she also makes her own props, costumes and sets. She spends a huge amount of time walking in forests, and driving around randomly, to scout the locations. Color and environment are vital to her work.
"The stories my mother read to me as a child and their illustrations inspired me greatly, and are the root of almost everything I create."

Two Days. Kanye Makes History.
The industry has been abuzz with rumors of Kanye West producing his own collection for awhile now. There was the whole Pastelle thing, then it was said that he would make his debut at NY Fashion Week, but it has finally been confirmed that our most stylish rapper will be debuting at Paris FW this Saturday, October 1st. The show is scheduled for 9:30 pm right after Jean Paul Gaultier & Loewe.
This ladies & gentlemen, is bigger than big. Firstly, we have to recognize that an African American male designer will be at one of the biggest events in fashion. That is an accomplishment within itself. The lack of diversity in high fashion is sickening, and this could be seen as a means of bridging the gap. Secondly, this is Mr. West we're referring to, && Yeezy does not half-step. If he's passionate about it, best believe the level of production will be crazy. They seriously need to stream this live.
It has been reported that he has fashion graduates from Central Saint Martins working under him as well as designers Louise Goldin and Dean Quinn. It has been said that, "[It] will be extraordinarily expensive; some of it is virtually unproduceable."
I for one do not know how to act. I know all of the Kanye fans are somewhere going bananas. Lets just put it this way, if this line represents and stays true to the Kanye we all know and love, this will be the beginning of something BIG.
Jocoby Joyy- "The luxury of rap. The Hermes of verses. Sophisticated ignorance; write my curses in cursive."

Shop All of your favorites brands at Motivation Boutique.
Speaking to my very best friend a couple of weeks ago [What up markus;], he expressed to me the lack of online options where today's man of style could shop. Pair his curiosity and need with a little internet searching, and he soon had a list of online retailers that I think our male readers will definitely identify with.
To keep anticipation going, I will post on a different website each week, and of course you guys can always tell me what you think. This week check out Motivation Boutique.
While browsing I found a lot of nice stuff. In particular, this blue Letterman & white button-up. Yeaaa . . . somebody handle that for me. Size small please ;)

Diane Arbus, the Exhibition at Jeu de Paume
Diane Arbus (New York, 1923-1971) revolutionized the art she practiced. Her bold subject matter and photographic approach produced a body of work that is often shocking in its purity, in its steadfast celebration of things as they are.
Arbus found most of her subjects in New York City, a place that she explored as both a known geography and as a foreign land, photographing people she discovered during the 1950s and 1960s. Her contemporary anthropology - portraits of couples, children, carnival performers, nudists, middle-class families, transvestites, zealots, eccentrics, and celebrities - stands as an allegory of the human experience, an exploration of the relationship between appearance and identity, illusion and belief, theater and reality.
In this first major retrospective in France, Jeu de Paume presents a selection of two hundred photographs, including all of the artist's iconic photographs as well as many that have never been publicly exhibited. Even the earliest examples of her work demonstrate Arbus's distinctive sensibility through the expression on a face, someone's posture, the character of the light, and the personal implications of objects in a room or landscape.
"I really believe there are things which nobody would see unless I photographed them."

Fresh Off the Runway -- Literally.
I know you all have been starving for a fresh off the runway post. This week I chose to do something slightly different and choose looks literally from the runway in honor of Milan's Fashion Week. These looks are from the incomparable Dolce & Gabbana.
The designers gave us a million trends to try next spring including, floral, embellished, lady-like, sheer, and retro. There was nothing missed with this collection and as always they stayed true to their Italian roots, while still giving us relevant and modern day FASHION. The runway show was so many things, while still being one simple thing--cohesive.
I dream of the days when I will be able to sit front row of the shows & take in all of the greatness. Do the looks impress you, or are you less than enthused ?
**Jocoby Joyy- I believe in luxury, like little children believe in Santa.
