Paco Peregrin: " Beautiful Monster "

Fusing hyper-real futurism with high-end beauty images, Paco Peregrin's style has earned him credibility as one of the most exciting photographers working in advertising, beauty, art and fashion today. His unmistakable signature belies his background in design, communication, theatre and painting. Paco's photography carries a perfect blend of sensuality with avant-garde.

Paco Peregrin was born in Almeria, Spain. He is a Bachelor of Fine Arts at Seville University and extends his formation in image and new means of expression in prestigious institutes such as International Center of Photography (NYC), Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design (London), etc.... He publishes for numerous magazines such as Vanity Fair (Italy), Glamour (Spain), Elle and many more. Paco Peregrin lives in Madrid and his work has been exhibited in many countries.

All photos that integrate Beautiful Monster allude to a very particular concept of beauty (sometimes unusual, alien or even beautifully monstrous), to its ephemeral nature and the passage of time. Naked men and women are on a neutral background where makeup comes great prominence, even avoiding the recognition of the models, thus reflecting on the idea of identity and a proposal for the makeup as a contemporary mask that protects us, on the one hand like a camouflage and the other helping us to build a super-ego.

Mariana Monteagudo: " Fake Idols "

The Venezuelan artist Mariana Monteagudo best known for her Munecas, doll sculptures, is beginning a new body of work. Little heroes, action figures, cartoon characters such as Betty Boop and Barbie dolls are the sources of inspiration for her new series titled " Fake Idols."

Monteagudo's work reveals an element of irony, not only in her unprejudiced use of iconography, but also in the way the artist takes features from toys, figures designed to show tenderness, with their big heads and moving expressions.

" This is the beginning of a new stage in my work. I'm starting to investigate new materials such as hard latex and other synthetic derivates, in a search that will certainly enrich my work and provide new languages or means of expression to my 10 years + career. The work has been slowly unfolding a different spirit, more industrial, more hybrid, taking references from the memory of our generation. A look from the distance to the icons of our society, trying not to take them for granted, but showing a different side, sometimes dark and frightening."

Shirin Aliabadi: " Miss Hybrid," the new Iranian girl

An art history and archaeology graduate of the University of Paris, Shirin Aliabadi is an artist based in Teheran.

In Miss Hybrid, a series of photographs that she began in 2006, Aliabadi shows a facet of the behavior of young Iranian women today. Veiled young women pose against a black background wearing blond wigs and blue, green or grey contact lenses. Occasional facial piercing and the plasters on their noses suggest recent plastic surgery which has become a fashion "must have" among the new generation of Iranian girls.

Attracted by the diversity of modern consumerism, these in-your-face beauties display their desire to get away from tradition and moves towards the Western system of expression and representation.

Shirin Aliabadi takes her inspiration from everyday life. She finds her models in the streets or local stores of her hometown. It is with a touch of humor that she talks about the veil, religion, and the position of women in the Orient, and the transformations undergone by her country, which are often treated in an austere way.

Gemma Land: " Modern Art on Silk "

They are unique, made of 100% silk crepe and add a touch of sophistication to any outfit. Bourgeois Utopia is a line of gorgeous scarves printed with black-and-white images from London-based photographer Gemma Land and produced by The Creatives Archives (TCA), a platform for driven emerging talent.

Since graduating in 2009 with an MA in Photography from London College of Communication, Gemma Land has shown her varied portfolio of work in galleries in the UK and Internationally. She is interested in the ideology and socio-political structures within residential and public architecture.
With influences such as Bernd and Hilla Becher, Andy Warhol, Francesca Woodman and Eugene Atget, her photographs of suburban houses feature an unsettling symmetry. Gemma also takes inspiration from the Gothic, Baroque, and Surrealism art movements.

Gemma Land has won the Creatives Archives Award that enabled her to cross boundaries between fashion, art and photography, and launched her first collection of scarves at London and Paris A/W10 fashion week.

Gemma Land has recently been developing a large project inspired by Gothic writer and Art collector Horace Walpole, in conjunction with Strawberry Hill.
